Carey’s first public appearance in 2011 was at the 22nd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, where she was presented with the award for Best Breakthrough Performance by her Never Let Me Go co-star Andrew Garfield! I absolutely loved her 50s style Prada dress, which she accessorized with a Cartier 18K White Gold and Diamond Cocktail Ring. The first batch of pictures have been added, enjoy!
As promised, I have just uploaded 801 Blu-Ray quality screen captures of Carey from Never Let Me Go. This is a really beautiful film and Carey is wonderful in it, alongside Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley. This means that we now have captures of all of Carey’s film projects! There are only two TV projects missing, but I’m hoping to add them asap. Stay tuned!
The long list of nominees for the British Academy Film Awards have been announced and Carey is one of the fifteen chosen for Best Actress, sharing the list with Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Nicole Kidman and Noomi Rapace amongst others!
The longlists are made up of the 15 contenders in each category, chosen by BAFTA members in the first round of voting, which closed January 5. In the second round, voters will select the five nominees, to be unveiled January 18. The BAFTAs will be awarded on February 13
I have finally added some lovely scans of Carey from the 2008 edition of Screen International thanks to a very kind donation, click on the thumbnails to see the full size versions in our gallery:
Happy New Year everyone! To start off 2011, I have just added over 500 HD screen captures of Carey in her role as Winnie Gekko from Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Stay tuned for even more updates, including BluRay-quality captures of Carey in Never Let Me Go!
I just wanted to share with you a couple of inspiring quotes from Carey’s current Elle UK interview – I think it’s lovely to see our favourite girl embracing natural looking bodies!
Carey Mulligan has a thin figure to begin with so it is hard to imagine, but she recently had to lose weight for her role in An Education, an Oscar nominated film.? It is certainly an experience that Carey does is not wishing to repeat in the future.
Weetabix for breakfast, soup for lunch and salad for dinner. ‘No, I will not have that glass of wine! Put that pizza away!’ It was not fun. I look back and it’s really, really not worth depriving yourself,” says the star.
Weetabix is a whole bran biscuit that is commonly served like cereal over milk.? It can be served hot or cold and with or without other adaptations such as fruit or sugar, although it is doubtful Carey was adding sugar.
Even though Carey went on this diet for the sake of her movie character, she would not recommend anyone doing it.? She wasn’t even pleased with the results once she saw the movie for herself.
I was very thin at the beginning of ‘An Education’ and I remember the scene where I’m dancing and you can see my spine. Yuck,” Mulligan reveals. “I would never want to be so thin that someone would think it was a good idea to be thin, and make themselves miserable.”
