Fresh from a standing ovation, Carey Mulligan sits in her Broadway dressing room, one leg tucked under the other, hair pinned back from her face, her hands almost consumed by a long pale-blue sweater. “Today was a good show,” she says with a smile. “Yesterday I didn’t feel as good about it, but today I liked.”
She is surrounded by flowers (“I got flowers from Helen Mirren, which I thought was the nicest thing ever!” she says) and jars of Marmite sent by well-wishers concerned that she might get homesick. They needn’t have worried. “I’ve always felt better in New York, doing theater,” she says. “I think because there’s no one I know in the audience—or I can believe that more comfortably than I can in London.” On the mirror behind her—written, for lack of lipstick, in Laura Mercier eyeliner—are three lines of poetry designed to embolden her: “These are our days. Walk them. Fear nothing.”
On Friday night, Carey Mulligan continued her UK promotion for “Far From the Madding Crowd” and appeared on “The Graham Norton Show”, giving yet another great (and very giggly!) interview. HD screen captures have now been added to the gallery.

Big thanks to our lovely friend Lindsey for her donation of images – make sure to visit her site Matthias Schoenaerts Network to find out more about Carey’s latest costar.
You may also have noticed that we have a lovely new theme up here at the main site! The header was made by the talented NowhereLand9 Design and the theme base was from Sin21 Designs. I am slowly editing and revamping all of the pages, and aim to make this your only resource for Carey Mulligan online! Is there anything in particular you would like to see? Let me know either in the comments or over on Twitter!

The first teaser trailer for Carey Mulligan’s upcoming drama “Suffragette” has just been released online, and you can watch it below. Carey Mulligan plays Maud and Meryl Streep stars as noted British political activist Emmeline Pankhurst. “Suffragette” has a U.K. release date of October 30, with no date set for the US as of yet.
“Suffragette” is an intense drama that tracks the story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement as they fought for the right to vote, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State. These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing. Radicalised and turning to violence as the only route to change, they were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality – their jobs, their homes, their children and their lives. The character of Maud, played by Carey Mulligan, is one such foot soldier. The story of her fight for dignity is both heart-breaking and inspirational.
